Photoshop Requests

Now we’ve all seen the Photoshop shop requests on various social media platforms, and we’ve all seen the photos submitted. Yes, some of them are quite good, some quite goofy (I have been known to knock up a goofy edit), but the majority are by the AI warriors who know how to press a button and to write a prompt. The downfall with them is that when they are given two photos that they want to mix, they steer well clear, as they know AI apps can’t do that just yet.

As this post wasn’t getting any traction on the socials, and I was personally asked if I could help, who was I not to take up the challenge? For some reference, it was the father’s 90th birthday, which he celebrated with six of his seven children. The seventh lives in Australia and was unable to make it.

From heartfelt moments to the kind of edits that’ll make you chuckle, I’m up for both — whether it’s adding someone in, taking something out, or just a fun idea you’ve got, please get in touch using the form below. Laters!

Jersey Photography Trip

So I ventured to the very beautiful Jersey for a holiday/photography trip.

Hundreds of photos and videos were taken, but I did whittle it down to my personal favourites. Below are a few highlights, and eventually there will be a video documenting my trip.

I had an impromptu visit to Penshurst Place over the weekend to check out some of the cars I grew up loving—now known as 'Classics.'

Coming from a mechanical background, I remember many of these makes coming in for MOTs, repairs, and servicing. Back then, as mechanics, we were often nonplussed—'Oh geez, it’s another old, crappy Mini'—but now I’d love the chance to work on one again. If I had the money to own one, that is, since they're not cheap now. I remember selling mine back in the day for £250; you could easily put a zero on the end of that figure now.

Anyway, enough reminiscing. Here are a few photos from the day.

After receiving an exciting tip-off that the Aurora was visible here in the south of the UK, I immediately sprang into action. I had been comfortably sitting and watching TV, but the prospect of capturing such a rare sight pulled me away from the screen. Grabbing my camera and tripod, I frantically rushed out the door.

By 1:30 am on the night of May 10th, I found myself standing in the middle of a field, surrounded by the spectacular celestial display. I set up my camera, adjusted the settings, and opened the shutter for six seconds to capture the beauty of the Aurora. Just as I was admiring the scene, a meteor decided to make a dramatic entrance, skimming off the atmosphere right in my frame. It was an awe-inspiring moment, and my jaw dropped as I watched the meteor's brief but brilliant journey across the sky.
